Rare 1978 revolving counter display
If you are into collecting variations then this is a small 1/64th scale van that you will find every interesting. The Chevrolet /US vans was made for just 7 years 1977 till 1983 but was still available in stores for some years after. It comes with a multitude of variations, Windows, wheels, bases, and casting “ Ribs on roof” due to the fact Corgi used two casting moulds. The list is endless and to add to this at the end of Corgi’s life they painted the casting in lots of plain colours and put odd tampo’s and stickers on them to use up the old castings in multi packs. They were then produced by Kiko/Corgi toys in Brazil. It was also sold in a large amount of package types. Including multi packs and boxed sets and 2 for 3 give aways sets.

In 2000 I worked with Ford in Seville Spain on the Ford Transit MK6 launch. One of the tourism managers there worked on Espana 82 & the Spanish Olympics in 1992 also in Seville. We became good friends over the 3 months. My job with my models and memorabilia was the history of the Transit van and answering questions for the deligates on history one day he turned up with this little collection. They are the colour samples sent to the Spanish tourism office to see what colours they liked.

I was very lucky to meet Jerry fishers wife and daughter at an Auction Jerry was a corgi designer and when he past away his collection was sold off in Buckingham where I live. Not all the items were sold at the Auction and later when I was visiting France I purchased the balance of the Corgi Juniors from Jerrys collection that was not offered at the sale, In the part of the collection where loads of unlisted Van variations I had never seen before along with cars and trucks.
